Pakistan has reported a record jump of more than 2000 new COVID-19 cases in the last two days (48 hours). The country’s health ministry has confirmed that the spread of the deadly virus, through local transmission has been showing a dangerous upward trajectory. With reporting 2,255 cases earlier, the country also saw a surge with 490 new cases in the last 24 hours. According to the Pakistan Ministry of National Health Services, Punjab reported 13,194 cases, Sindh recorded 14,099 cases, then 5,423 cases in Kyber Pakhtunkwa, Balochistan has 2,310 cases and there are 596 cases in PoK (Pakistan occupied Kashmir).
The total number of Coronavirus cases in Pakistan has reached 37,164. The total deaths are at 802, which is increasing continuously due to the disease. The South Asian nation has also shown some signs of recovery with a total of 10,155 patients, who have been either discharged or cured in hospitals from the deadly virus. However, there are still 26,207 active cases with over 150 still needing critical life care support.
