Shivratri is almost here! A festival that is celebrated annually in honour of Lord Shiva, Shivratri marks the day of the deity’s marriage with Parvati. While many people choose to fast on the days of Shivratri, Mahashivratri is a day to celebrate and feast. Here are 3 dishes to make on this special day which will not require much effort and are also simply delicious.

Gajar And Khajur Halwa 

Grate carrot and add sugar to it. Mix it well and then add milk to the same. An important ingredient to add are dates. Cut them into small pieces and add them to the carrot. Add some cashew nuts for flavour. Also, add some garam masala (just a pinch) and ghee. Mix them all together with some elaichi. Add some more ghee towards the end and mix well. Your dish is ready!

Sabudana Thalipeeth 

Sabudana needs to be mixed with grated boiled potatoes. Add green chillies with the same depending on how spicy you want it to be. Add some jeera, salt and dhaniya to the same. Now, throw in some peanuts and mix them all together. Next, take some atta, mix it and make the tough into a ball so as to make a roti out of it. Flatten them out on a tava and cook them. Add some ghee to the same.


Take curd and sugar and mix them together in the blender. Add some ice to make the drink ice-cold. Add some milk for some more taste. In not more than 2 minutes, your drink is ready! To top it all, add some malai to give the concoction a better consistency.
