Inspired By Deepika Das's Vacation To Coorg, Your Itinerary For A Two-Day Getaway Is Ready

Amrutha from the popular Zee Kannada serial Naagini often visits Coorg for weekend getaways, or for work. Her love for the small but extremely serene town is sure to be an inspiration for many holiday-enthusiasts. Also known as Kodagu, Coorg is a mesmerising hill station in Karnataka located at an altitude of approx. 900 metres above sea level.

To find out if Amrutha successfully crossed the forbidden line, watch this episode:

A town locked by land on all sides, an unscathed stretch of numerous mountains and the biggest producer of coffee in Karnataka, Coorg is also called the Scotland of India. You will not regret visiting this lovely hill-station thanks to its weather patterns and lush greenery. If you plan to visit Coorg anytime soon and are wondering about the best places to visit in little time, don’t worry we’ve saved you the trouble with this short itinerary.

1. Day 1 – Burn some calories by trekking to the Bramhagiri peak

Located in the middle of the Coorg and Wayanad districts of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu respectively, is a range of mountainous terrain called Bramhagiri. Atop this sits the Bramhagiri peak. Measuring an enormous height of 1608 meters, this tourist spot is a great attraction for trekkers.

2. Relax after the trek with some water indulgence at the Abbey Falls

Walk through quite pathways in between private coffee and spice estates to reach an exotic view of the Abbey falls. Located approximately eight kilometres from Coorg, this almost white waterfall drops down from over 70 feet and eventually merges into the Cauvery river. It is pure bliss for photographers to capture their moment of paradise.

3. Pamper yourself at Raja’s seat by watching the most mesmerising view in front of you

Raja's Seat (Seat of the King) is a seasonal garden of flowers and artificial fountains. It is one of the most important tourist spots in Madikeri of Coorg District. It is 270 km away from Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka. Raja Garden was a one-time-favorite of the kings of Kodagu who used to watch the setting sun, and spend time with their queens here. #rajaseat #rajaseatgarden #rajaseatcoorg #coorg #madikeri #kodagu #garden #viewpoint #coorgdiaries #madikericoorg #coorgtrip #coorgtourism #travelcoorg #travelkodagu #gardenoftheking #seasonalgarden #travelkarnataka #explorekarnataka #incrediblekarnataka #karunadu #kannadanadu #beautifulkarnataka #travelgram #travelblog #travelogue #travelog #explorekarnataka #karnatakaone #kodagudiaries #5visitors

As the name suggests, back in the time when Kings used to rule, this place was popular for its epic view at the valley down below. Therefore, the royal family would come down to the Raja’s seat to view the vastness of the land coupled with mesmerising sunsets. A must visit spot if you want to get the feel of royalty.

4. Day 2 – Get a chance to see the flora and fauna of Nagarhole National Park

The Nagarhole National Park comprises of streams, waterfalls, greenery and varieties of trees and animals. For those of you who didn’t know the meaning of Nagarhole, here it is. Naga means snake and ‘hole’ means streams; since the park is populated with small streams that look like they are wriggling, the area got the name Nagarhole.

5. Before returning home, seek blessings at the Talacauvery temple

Situated on the slopes of the Bramhagiri hills is the birthplace of the holy river, Cauvery. Although it is approximately 44 kilometres from the town of Coorg, this has to be on your bucket list because of the religious essence along the tryst with nature type of feeling you get there. This is an absolute must!

Surely you can see the serenity on Deepika Das’s face during her trip to Kodagu. Since Coorg is known for its variety of dishes with pork (also known locally as pandi), don’t forget to try the famous pandi curry.
