India Begins Repatriation Mission To Bring Back Stranded Indians In Foreign Countries

First to land were 175 stranded Indians who landed in Kochi from Abu Dhabi.

Over the next week, India will bring back more than 14000 Indian nationals who are stranded in foreign countries due to travel restrictions imposed because of Covid-19 outbreak. 175 stranded Indians landed in Kochi from Abu Dhabi first. 

There will be 64 flights in the first week of the repatriation process. There will be a total of 750 passengers arriving from China, Singapore and the Philippines. 300 Indians nationals stranded in the US will land in Mumbai from San Francisco. All arriving nationals will have to download the Aaryogya Setu App.After a medical screening they will be put under a 14 day quarantine, post that they will all be tested for Covid 19.

Stranded Indians from 12 countries—including Gulf, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, ASEAN–Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Bangladesh and US, UK, will be brought back. 

Approximately 3 lakh people have registered for repatriation.
