Directed by Anup Bhandari, Rajaratha slips from the usual stereotypical films you see in Sandalwood nowadays. The story looks at the journey of a bus named Rajaratha and the parallel stories of its passengers along with it. Starring Nirup Bhandari and Avantika Shetty, the main character of the film is the bus itself, portrayed by Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar. While he has only given his voice as a narrative for the film, the director claims to have wanted exactly such a voice to give life to an inanimate object like a bus.
During the release, the actor spoke about his experience voicing the character of the bus Rajaratha to a leading media daily. He said, “Giving the voiceover for that particular character — a bus — was a really good experience. It was very different and I want to see how it will be received. I hope that this starts a trend, where people will step forward to lend their voices to films for such unique characters. I always wanted to lend my voice to a cartoon character, which I got to do with Rajaratha.”
To add to this the director hinted that the beginning and the end of the film are to watch out for. “The best dialogues said by his character are during the opening and closing credits of the film, so I would advise people to not miss a single minute of the film,” the director said.
