A Still Of Deepika Das From Naagini

Finally! The long weekend for Deepavali awaits us and since we know many of you will be planning your long weekend trips, there might be some who still believe in the impromptu planning ways. If you are one of those kinds of people, who believe in last-minute plans but are confused where you must head to, don’t worry we’ve got you covered.

Here’s presenting to you a list of 5 unique places that you must visit for a calm and quiet long weekend. If the ‘Silent Diwali’ concept is your motto, then carry some lamps because these mesmerising places will give you the experience of a lifetime. Let’s begin.

1. Halebidu – Hassan District

Known as the capital of the Hoysala Empire during the 12th Century, Halebidu is located approximately 210 km from Bengaluru and is the first on our list. A wonderful reminder of history and the glory of our rich heritage, the small town is known for its picturesque views and ancient temples. the architectural marvels of that era are worth taking a visit too. Plus, you will get to experience Diwali, the authentic ‘halli’ style.

2. Kabini – Wayanad District

Located at a distance of approximately 211 km from Bengaluru, the river Kabini is one of the tributaries of the Cauvery river that originates from the Wayanad district in Kerala. It is also home to the Kabini National Park, the river hosts many resorts and getaway dwellings around it making it a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ opportunity. If you are the adventure-seeker kinds then Kabini is the perfect getaway for you because it has many amusements like elephant safari, rafting, boating etc.

3. Kemmanagundi – Chikmangaluru District

For trekkers and nature lovers, this is one of the most beautiful places to visit for a quick getaway. A hill station that has nothing but raw nature to offer, Kemmanagundi is located approximately 273 km from Bengaluru. From the Hebbe falls to the Z point, your quota of adrenaline will be satiated in the Kemmanagundi, that’s for sure. Oh! I almost forgot, carry salt to stay away from leeches (a tip from my personal experience)!

4. Kuduremukha – Chikmangaluru District

If you have applied for more leaves, then extend your stay and visit the small hill station located about 160 km away, Kuduremukha. This hill station is famous the mining station but also acts as a wonderful weekend getaway if you are looking to un-socialise and just relax this long weekend of Deepavali.

5. Gokarna – Uttara Kannada District

My personal favourite because beachy weekend getaways are my kind of holiday. So if you are a beach-freak like me, then go on this long weekend to the beautiful town of Gokarna, aka the small and better version of a commercialised Goa. Comprising of four to five less-visited beach, if this is your kind of getaway too, it is a promise that Gokarna will not disappoint. From the hospitality to the mesmerising beaches itself, Gokarna is the place to be this Deepavali.
