A conflict arose when the General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee, in charge of Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra sent registration numbers of bikes, cars, auto-rickshaws, and ambulances in the list of 1,000 buses that are supposed to rescue stranded migrant labourers from various parts of the country, back to their homes, due to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. Earlier, she had sent the proposal to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, which was accepted.

In response to Priyanka’s offer, Additional Chief Secretary, Avneesh Kumar Awasthi has written another letter to the Congress on Tuesday, May 19, 2020. The UP government asked for 500 buses each to be sent to the cities of Noida and Ghaziabad that fall on the Delhi border. District Magistrates of the respective cities will receive these buses. UP had set certain riders, which the Congress party said were unacceptable. They also added that they can not send buses to Lucknow.
