Dheekshith Shetty's, aka Arjun of Naagini, love for the cultural history of Namma Karunadu is sure to fill you with delight!

Dheekshith Shetty Always Love To Attend A Show OF Yakshagana

Dheekshith Shetty, who plays the lead role on Zee Kannada’s hit show Naagini, has a special love for performing arts. It is a moment of pride when your favourite celebrity promotes the cultural gifts of your state. Dheekshith stood proudly with a couple of artists after his performance in a play called Yakshagana.

To know why Shatrughna captured Amurtha and Arjun watch this episode:

With its distinctive cultural patterns and traditions, Karnataka has a rich artistic heritage. Furthermore, the state has managed to maintain the diversity between religious and cultural traditions.

Yakshagana is a combination of dancing, singing. It also includes a live band with authentic instruments, expressive makeup and various stage techniques. This unique theatre form involves a few dialogues with a narrator in most skits. It is a performance that takes place over the course of one full day. Tales from epics like the Mahabharata and the Ramayana are depicted in these skits. The costumes are brightly coloured costumes and a headgear twice the size of an average human face.

The whole play happens in bits and parts. During the show, artists provide melodious background tunes to add emotion to the play. An interesting concept about Yakshagana is that the stage gets just one curtain in the backdrop. Unlike before, Yakshagana has now reached an international platform, thanks to our talented dance troops.

Born in the rural areas of South Karnataka, this folk form should be viewed in a live environment for the best experience. One can also get to see how beautifully the crew members set up everything first-hand. Like Dheekshith Shetty, it is time that we too promote our cultural heritage and make a mark on the world!
