Many Indians were left stranded in at least seven countries, because of the coronavirus pandemic. However, recently Air India has taken the responsibility of organising special flights under the Vande Bharat Mission which is India’s mammoth repatriation operation to bring back the stranded citizens.
Four flights will be bringing back Indian nationals under the mission, and will be arriving from Bangladesh’s Dhaka to Delhi, Kuwait to Hyderabad, Muscat to Cochin and the United Arab Emirates’ Sharjah to Lucknow.
Another four will come from Kuwait and land in Cochin, Kuala Lumpur to Trichy, the United Kingdom’s London to Mumbai and Doha to Cochin.
This plan is also considered as the first phase of the massive Vande Bharat Mission that began on May 7, 2020, and will run till May 13, 2020. The mission also involves UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Bangladesh, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, the UK and the United States.
